Why it caught our eye

There is something irresistible about art on a miniature scale. Maris Mirum, the imaginative collection of artist Brandie Stonge, brings together the charm of antique curiosities, the beauty of hand-painted papers, and the unexpected delights of collage.

Each design begins as an original composition of painted cotton papers, vintage ephemera, and mixed media. These intricate works are then reproduced as fine giclée prints, preserving the delicate layers, textures, and shadows of the original artwork.

The miniature images are individually framed in antiqued glass lockets, finished with colorful silk ribbons, and assembled in the United States. Part artwork, part keepsake, they are wonderful little treasures to hang, collect, or give to someone who appreciates beautiful and unusual things.

At Clever Girl, we particularly love their ability to lend personality to a small corner of a room. They are proof that extraordinary things needn't be large.
