Co. Sanremo Marinara Pasta Sauce

Why we like it

This is the sort of pantry staple we like to keep within reach: an authentic Italian marinara that makes a very good dinner possible without much planning.

Of course it's wonderful tossed with pasta, but we use it well beyond that. One favorite: crumble a small log of goat cheese into a little baking dish, spoon marinara over and around it, and warm it briefly in the oven. Add good bread and you have a terrific appetizer with almost no effort—and a kitchen that smells as though you've been cooking all afternoon.
